Welcome to IPT Support

This website is here to provide you with resources you can use to keep your VisionHawk systems up and running well.  Direct support is provided on an hourly basis.  The support website is designed to supplement that service, and to act as a place to answer commonly asked questions.

This site started as a subscription service, but it is now open to all VisionHawk customers in the hope that it will streamline the service we are able to provide, and minimize unnecessary repetition.

Let us know what your questions are by making comments on this page.  We will answer questions by creating posts.  To make comments it is necessary to register with the site.  After we have verified your status as a VisionHawk customer, we will grant full access to the site.

Also, please note that there is a Twitter account associated with this website, which you can access by clicking the Twitter icon on the upper right of the page.  It will include information about any updates and new posts.  It is also another way to submit questions.

Wanting to know if we can still get replacement parts such as body mics, and if anyone still services them since it appears that the company went out of business.

having trouble “syncing ” microphone or remote control on our visionhawk in car camera systems . Are proper instructions or technical manuals available ?

I’m going to defer to Debbie on this one. I’ve e-mailed her your question, I know there is a “tech tip”, but I’m not sure it has the detail you are looking for. I will e-mail it to you just in case it helps, and then work on getting the rest of the tech tips published on this site.

We are replacing our computers with new computers with Windows 7. What problems will I run into?

    • #6 written by admin

Sorry, I just saw your message. The main issue you will run into is if you have 64-bit WIndows 7. In that case, you just have to be sure to use the 32-bit control panel app for setting up the ODBC database connection. Other than that, it works just fine.

I have forwarded your request to Debbie. We do have some “tech tip” documents, some of which are posted on this website, but nothing exactly like what you are looking for. Debbie should be able to help you out, though.

#9 questions answer: pre-record time is defined by the resolution set on the front camera; for example, CIF will have 60 sec pre-record, 640×400-40 sec and D1 will be 30 seconds. Thanks Walter !!!

I have a problem with a unit in a car in that the light bar activation shows on the display as being active (with the L being illuminated) but it does not start the camera recording. Any ideas or suggestions?

I am trying to see if you have a MAC player for the vhviewer.exe.

    • #17 written by admin

Unfortunately, we don’t. Your best bet would be to run in within Windows XP in a virtual machine using something like VirtualBox on your MAC. If there is sufficient value in having a MAC version, we could discuss a plan for porting it, but I imagine the cost would probably not be worth it to you.

Hello, I am attempting to install the VisionHawk client on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC, I have gone through the ODBCAD32.exe fromthe SysWOW64 folder manually and setup the ODBC connection which test successful, however, when launching the program I get a “Query1: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.” error, any ideas on how to resolve this?

    • #21 written by admin

You probably also need to set up the Borland database layer to point to it as well. Be sure that the database name is set properly in particular. If need be, we can set up a remote support session to get it solved.

      • #22 written by Brandon Roberts

Still no luck, I have opened the BDE (32-bit) and went to the IPTData Database, right clicked and hit ODBC Administrator and linked that to the SysWOW64/ODBCAD32.exe and that worked, however I’m still getting the “Query1″ error when launching the VHSS.

Is there anyone in Florida who actually can service the Visonhawk system. We currently have removed it from patrol cars because the harddrives went bad in the units. Was wondering can these be fixed or replaced?

    • #25 written by admin

It is possible to get the units repaired. I will send an e-mail and put you in touch with someone who can do that.

I am looking for replacement batteries for the SST-24 mics. It appears Ultralife no longer makes the UBP005.

I have tried two options: an HTC Innovation cell phone battery that worked but was larger than the original and required modification of the mic; and a UBC581730 replacement battery that was advertised to be a replacement for the Ultralife UBP005 that would charge but would not sync with VisionHawk.

If there is a reliable replacement battery available, please advise. Thank you.

The system boots from a compact flash card. The system only records video onto the hard disk. I’ve forwarded your request to someone who has spare parts you may need. Is this for a new installation, or just maintaining an existing one?
